Condoriri basecamp, in the Andes on the Bolivia Mountaineering Expedition © Andrew Wexler Our Bolivia programme is a ten day climbing course which includes skills instruction and review. The course encompasses all fundamental alpine mountaineering skills and is designed for those with little or no glacier climbing experience. The program includes a series of high altitude climbs but needs to be preceded by a period of acclimatisation. This would involve a few days hiking in the region before the trip, or joining our three day acclimatisation programme.

Many climbers participating in our Bolivia programme stay on for an additional five days to make an ascent of Illimani, the highest peak in the Cordillera Real. Though it stands at 21,201ft or 6462m, climbers enjoy an extremely high rate of success because of their thorough acclimatisation in the earlier part of the program.

Adventure Consultants offers trips to Bolivia in conjunction with American Alpine Institute, our North American partners. Our North American based guides have extensive guiding experience in South America and other high peaks around the world, making this an ideal expedition for those wishing to learn the essentials of high altitude mountaineering with the assurance of qualified leadership.
