Last Days - No rush to get away this morning. There was some low cloud on the surrounding peaks and you could hear the pitter patter of light snow falling on the nylon tents. Roll over and sleep for another two hours. Bliss.

Farewell from Denali - I would like to thank Mohamed and Haytham for all of their hard work on and off the mountain. Both of them put in countless hours of intense training in order to be physically and mentally ready for the challenges of climbing Denali.

Back in the big smoke!! - We woke to a frosty last morning at camp, again we waited for the sun to warm our tents before rising. It certainly was a stunner of a morning and we pulled our chairs out of the tent and into the sun and gazed once more at these beautiful giants called the Himalaya!

Back in Kathmandu! - So there it is. We have gone and done it. We are back. Back in civilisation, plugged in and reconnected. We are even showered, washed and barely recognisable from what we were a week ago.

Heading home - in style! - It seemed like the perfect end to a successful trek. Waking up to another stunning day we packed our gear in sunshine. Goodbye and thanks to all the hardworking guys that have been helping us with everything along the way.

Back in the big smoke!! - I have been made aware that one of my final dispatches did not send!! So let me recap... We woke in Namche to a light snow flurry, and so enjoyed a leisurely morning walking up to the Sherpa Museum where we learned a few things about the Sherpa culture.

16 April 2017     It rained all night in Lukla, with thunder punctuating the sound of a heavy downpour on the rooftops. Would we get out in the morning, or would we be spending the day waiting for a clearance which would allow us to take our flight back to Kathmandu?
