Thomas Fortin

Thomas was born and raised in the French Alps, where the call for the outdoors was an easy choice. He was introduced to skiing and climbing at a very young age, and has since continued to make the outdoors his home, qualifying as a ski guide and amassing a wealth of experience in the outdoor and ski industry.

Bio
Originally trained as a sommelier, Thomas started travelling extensively in the late 90’s, trekking, skiing, climbing, and diving all over the world. His inherent sense of adventure has taken him to some amazing and special places.
Now based in Queenstown, New Zealand, Thomas has worked as ski patroller, heliski guide, ski guide, trekking guide, rigging, climbing instructor and in safety work on movie sets in New Zealand, Canada and Japan. He also dedicates some of his spare time as a member of the local alpine cliff rescue team, and is a qualified NZMGA Ski Guide and NZOIA Rock and Alpine Climbing Guide. He has a talent for languages, speaking French, Spanish, Italian and English, and above all else enjoys sharing memorable experiences in the outdoors with others.
Thomas joins the AC team as one of our experienced and highly qualified trekking guides.
