Welcome to Adventure Consultants' Backcountry Skiing and Snowboarding Course. This 5-day course is designed to provide you with up-to-date techniques and safety skills for skiing in New Zealand's high mountains. It is directed toward fit and motivated people who have a background in resort based skiing or snowboarding and wish to extend their skills into backcountry ski touring.

This course will operate in either Westland National Park, Mt Cook National Park or Aspiring National Park, depending on where conditions are best.  Each has its own huge selection of glaciers, bowls and peaks to explore while learning skills. We will be based from one of the local mountain huts after accessing the glaciers by helicopter or ski plane.  This allows us to start skiing the minute we get up each morning.

Group Size: maximum 8, minimum 3

Guide ratio: 1:4

Duration: 5 days (all courses operate Monday to Friday apart from our 7 day course)

Price: NZ$1,950  for the 5 day course
            NZ$2,450 for the 7 day course

Includes guide, ground transport, some equipment, helicopter / ski plane access and 4 nights accommodation, all meals.

We have an extensive array of good quality rental equipment available to supplement your own gear.
