Welcome to Adventure Consultants' Private Guided Ski and Snowboard Touring trips. These trips are designed for those people who can not fit into our regular scheduled dates of our scheduled ski touring trips, or who would prefer to just go and make some turns ski touring in the backcountry with a guide or have one on one instruction. Take advantage of the opportunity to learn from some of the world’s most qualified and experienced skiers and instructors on our Private Ski Mountaineering program.
Contact us to discuss your aspirations and schedule, and we will work with you to design an appropriate and stimulating course format. These courses can be arranged for groups of any size and past course participants have enjoyed dramatic improvements in their touring skills.
This trip will usually operate in either Westland National Park, Mt Cook National Park or Aspiring National Park, depending on where conditions are best. Each has its own huge selection of glaciers, bowls and peaks to explore while learning skills. We will be based from one of the local mountain huts after accessing the glaciers by helicopter or ski plane. This allows us to start skiing the minute we get up each morning.
Dates: The season for winter ski touring in New Zealand's Southern Alps is July through October

We can also extend the number of days to 14 or beyond if you would like to spend longer in the mountains, climb more peaks and further developing your mountaineering skills.

We supply all group equipment including ropes, tents and cooking gear and you need to turn up with your personal ski or snowboard equipment. We have an extensive array of good quality rental equipment available to supplement your own gear.
