BIO

We are excited to have Olivier guiding for AC in New Zealand. Born and raised in the French Alps, Olivier still calls these mountains home, residing for most of the year in the ski resort village of Tignes in South Eastern France. Olivier has been skiing and adventuring since he was 3 years old and has never looked back.

He has climbed and skied all over the world including in New Zealand, Australia, France, Bulgaria, Italy and Switzerland.  He has worked as a ski instructor, freestyle coach, certified ski patroller and now as an IFMGA Mountain and Ski Guide.

Olivier also has many notable personal trips under his belt including a 4 month climbing trip in Thailand, Laos and China in 2009, climbing in Morocco in (Taghia) in 2009 and in Jordania (Wadi Rum) in 2011.

He is an exceptional athlete. He started skiing competitively in freestyle (moguls) at 15 years old, went on to become a member of the French Ski Team, won the European Championship and has competed in two world cup seasons.

When asked what he loves most about guiding, he answered that it is being able to share moments with those he’s guiding and to see them improve and enjoy the mountains as much as he does.

Olivier describes his most memorable climb as:

“On the back side of Mont Blanc, we climbed the North face of La Blanche de Peutre and kept going on the Grand Pilier d’Angle. We spent the night on the wall at 4200m on the ice; the stars were so bright, it was amazing. We woke up and finished our climb to the top of Mont Blanc 4800m and then headed back home... It’s just one of those days you remember.”
